The town set was built specifically for the series in North Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia
Chronology
Uncover the mystery of a town in the central United States that imprisons all who enter it. As the residents struggle to maintain a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest. The site, known as Beaver Bank Villa, has a long history and many years ago contained housing, a community hall, fire station, school, church, convenience store, etc.
When Boyd enters a distant tree, he finds himself at the bottom of a well
(all demolished in 2004) to support workers at a nearby military radar base that operated in the 1950s and 1960s. Cobblestone streets and driveways were all that remained, and the fake town was built on top of it. A rope is dropped on him by (presumably) Martin in the room above despite his wrists being chained.

While there are still too many unanswered questions and season 2 wasn’t as good as the first season, it’s still worth watching. Overall, From is every bit as good as all the hype surrounding it.
It was definitely way better than anything I expected
While there is some horror and gore in it, this show is so much more than just a horror show. I know a lot of critics have compared it to Lost and while it’s not nearly as good as that show, I can see where they’re getting the comparison. It’s a very smart show that has a lot of unknowns and mysteries.
I just started the second season and while it’s not as good, it’s still entertaining
Every answer we get leads to more questions and I’m afraid there are more questions than answers, but so far it’s been a fun show to watch.
